Common errors & troubleshooting
Image looks stretched
Cause: Exact width and height were forced without locking aspect ratio.
Fix: Use an aspect-preserving mode (fit / longest edge / percentage) instead of exact stretch.
Output larger than expected
Cause: PNG is lossless; upscaling increases pixel count and file size.
Fix: Export as JPG/WebP with quality controls after resizing.
Privacy and security
- Your input and generated output are processed locally and are not sent to our servers for tool execution.
- Opening a local file uses the browser File API; the file is not uploaded to UtilityKit.
- We may collect anonymous product analytics (for example page views). Tool contents are not included in those events.
- Upscaling cannot invent true detail — enlargement interpolates existing pixels.
- Very large dimensions may be limited by browser memory.
Frequently asked questions
Is Image Resizer free?
Yes. Image Resizer is free on UtilityKit and processes images locally in your browser.
Is my image uploaded when I resize it?
No. The selected file is processed locally with the browser File API and is not uploaded for tool execution.
Will resizing reduce quality?
Downscaling is usually sharp when you keep a high export quality. Upscaling enlarges pixels and cannot recover lost detail.
Can I use Image Resizer on mobile?
Yes. It works on mobile browsers with the same local-processing privacy model.
