Common errors & troubleshooting
Browser slows down or tab crashes
Cause: Too many huge camera photos in one batch.
Fix: Process 20–50 images at a time, or downscale more aggressively before a second pass.
Images look cropped unexpectedly
Cause: Square / landscape / portrait modes use cover-crop by default.
Fix: Switch fit mode to contain (letterbox) if you need the full image without cropping.
ZIP download is empty
Cause: Batch failed before files were encoded.
Fix: Check the error message, remove unsupported files, and run Batch Resize again.
Privacy and security
- Your input and generated output are processed locally and are not sent to our servers for tool execution.
- Opening a local file uses the browser File API; the file is not uploaded to UtilityKit.
- We may collect anonymous product analytics (for example page views). Tool contents are not included in those events.
- Processing is limited by your device memory and CPU — this is intentional for privacy.
- Upscaling cannot invent true detail; it only interpolates existing pixels.
- EXIF/GPS metadata is removed when images are re-encoded through canvas (desired for strip-metadata mode).
- Animated GIF/WebP frames are flattened to a still frame in batch resize modes.
Frequently asked questions
Is Batch Thumbnail Generator free?
Yes. Batch Thumbnail Generator is free on UtilityKit with no signup.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. You open local files with the browser File API. UtilityKit does not upload your images for resizing.
Can I download all results as a ZIP?
Yes. Most batch tools package outputs into a ZIP so you can save the whole set in one click.
Will Google AdSense or ads see my images?
Tool inputs stay in your browser session for processing. Do not paste secrets into unrelated fields; image bytes are not sent to our servers for the resize operation.
